From Logo design to movie posters and everything in between, these projects range the gamut.
When the three co-founders of BlogHer approached me to design a logo for their new online blogging network for women, they were clear, no pink, and no frills. We are solid, serious writers and thinkers. As a designer the keys on the keyboard is what that really translated to. I created an icon from characters these bloggers would use on a daily basis. Thus the icon got it’s name ‘Hermoticon’ instead of an emoticon.
This logo saw many evolutions but stayed true to the craft of writing.
This logo was designed for a project to depict transition yet maintain the east west relationship. It was also aimed to work as an embossed stamp.

When the Director of this film approached me to design the logo and other production material for the film, he was very clear about looking for a simplistic logo. The film is on non-duality and Pi plays a big part in the movie. Tying that into the logo was important piece of the puzzle for me. This was the final logo.
When LA based Director Jessica Lee was starting her own company she wanted a logo that was retro yet iconic, and something that showed the tactile quality of film on print. This was her final choice.

This was a fictitious identity I had to create along with many other production elements for the file The Wisdom Tree. This logo was selected and I designed screens for a website for this company as well.
The client was creating a conference for literary teens. A mashup of ideas, thought leaders, and personalities. The mashup of fonts that represented diversity in thought was selected as the final logo.
The client was creating a conference for literary teens. A mashup of ideas, thought leaders, and personalities. The thought bubble with a logo that seemed connected in it’s ups and downs was a very tight contender.
This film tells two interwoven stories of two single-parent families in a poor, racially-mixed neighborhood in Brooklyn. I wanted the logo to tell the b/w story in an iconic way.
Logo used in the movie poster
The couple wanted to show their love by creating a card that was both personal and simple. After meeting with both of them it was clear that I needed them to be part of the design. I traced their hands creating a union, the heart, and used earthy Arches paper to show the raw and ethereal relationship.
This logo was created for the fashion fundraiser PJCC was hosting. They liked the logo so much that they had me design their event invitation.
When I worked at Indika Entertainment Studio in NY we got to design for this wonderful film. We hired the New Yorker Illustrator to create the scene from the film for this version of the poster.
The duality of the character and the movie were depicted in this poster created at Indika Entertainment Studios.
There were so many amazing shots and depictions from this film that we wanted to portray for this poster but this iconic shot of actress Isabelle Adjani was requested for the poster.
This documentary by director Jessica Yu won the Sundance Award. This poster depicted the life of the lead in the movie who lived in an iron lung. The watch was his visual metaphor for life the image of him was the only one he had as a child, standing on his two feet.
This was part of production design for the film. I designed the book covers of all the books the actors interacted with in the movie, we wanted to make sure we did not have any copyright infringement.

Kids & Art Foundation is a nonprofit I founded in 2008. I designed the logo and setup a brand template for our print, online, and motion footage. The design thinking behind the brand is to always exude positivity and empowerment.
Storytelling is a big part of a brands identity and extension. The content strategy behind each project needs to be well researched. What space is the client in? Who are their competitors? What is their short term and long term strategy? How will the design do the talking? The projects I have worked on are diverse.
How do you come up with a solution for a creative problem? A MVQ session helped us while we worked with our CS client.
Our client posed a problem, how do we avoid reprinting a pitchbook at the last minute sue to edits that come our way from analysts or management? We came up with several solutions as Phase 1.
This is a fictitious project we have created since we cannot share the current project we are working on for Silicon Valley Bank. Since we were creating this responsive project with Google’s Material Design, we wanted to make sure that we spent time on translating the banks brand into this new tool (we created this branding template for our pet matching tool as well).
Questions answered during the on-boarding process will generate the matches. So we created a robust set of on-boarding questions.

The dashboard has a 70-30 real estate saved for the final matching and for the client profile. Which can be edited at any given time thanks to the Material Design card metaphor we used to design this tool.
When you select a profile, you have access to lots of details on each choice. With Material Design card metaphor the user can easily navigate back and forth without being sent out of the platform.
Hayward has an eclectic variety of restaurants and we are working on an app that will showcase all restaurants in one place.
Kids & Art Foundation delivers art experiences on a weekly basis to local hospitals. I’m working on an app to help them collect satisfaction data.
OTG has to print a poster for their food trucks. The problem, their vendors change at the last minute and then they have to spend money on reprinting a large format poster the night before their event. I worked with them to create a digital version of a poster using Eink technology, that can be updated on the fly.
Eink at large format only allows for b/w images. This poster was created as a test to show how easy it was to upload a new food truck offering with the help of the app.
The goal of the app was to help update food truck menu, posters, and offerings. We envisioned an on-the-go design.

Our goal is to give a gist of everything the organization does on the home page. Most of the time the site is visited by grantors, donors, and people looking to volunteer. (The site will undergo a redesign to incorporate the new event management and donation system once a grant is approved)
BlogHer network did a lot. It was a huge voice for influencers, and a strong community of women bloggers. They also hosted conferences, events, and much more. Their home page had a problem, there was too much noise and they just could not scan the page well, which meant bad user experience.
The new page was designed pre-pinterest days when the card metaphor wasn’t available. Our goal was to simplify by creating a navigation bar that was clear and by offering all other business offerings as tabs. The bloggers were the most important part of the platform and our new design gave them the needed brand visibility.
This website was created as part of production design for the movie The Wisdom Tree.
La Luna is a 2011 Pixar computer-animated short film, directed and written by Enrico Casarosa. I assisted in the first version of the interactive book project.

Everywhere one looks there is a secret story hiding. The arches, the colors, the textures, each have gained wisdom from travelers who walked past them.
I take these photos because they sound poetic to me. I also like to add them to my own stock photo repository for projects.
I also like to take classes at San Francisco Center for the Book where I get to play with image transfers, book binding and printmaking.
